???? Welcome to our new class, the Cetus Crew! ????

Our wonderful class team is Mrs McGeachie, Mrs Harrison and Mrs Xu. ????

Our class is inspired by Cetus, a magical sea creature from Greek mythology. In the stories, Cetus was a huge sea creature who became part of a famous adventure involving the Gorgon Medusa. ????????

The Gorgon Medusa had snakes for hair and a magical power that could turn people to stone if they looked directly at her. After Medusa was defeated, her head became a special symbol of protection. It was placed on the shield of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, courage and clever thinking. ????️✨

Athena is especially important to us because our school is named after her! We love the idea of bringing some of Athena’s qualities into our own classroom — being curious, using our thinking skills, showing courage when things are tricky and supporting one another. ????????

This year, our Cetus Crew is setting sail on an adventure of our own! ⚓️????

We have already been busy taking part in lots of team-building activities, sharing our interests and getting to know one another. We’re learning how to be a kind and supportive crew by sharing, taking turns, helping one another and looking out for our friends. ????????

We’re so excited to watch our Cetus Crew grow, learn, build friendships and create lots of wonderful memories together! ????????????️
